Garbage Disposal Repair for Phoenix homes

Garbage disposals are the job Phoenix-area homeowners search for us most. In Ahwatukee, many homes still have the disposal that came with a 1990s or early 2000s kitchen, and those units are well past their typical eight to twelve year life.

If yours hums without spinning, try the reset button and the hex key underneath first. If it leaks from the bottom, the seals have failed and it needs replacing. We carry common replacement units so most swaps happen on the first visit.

Frequently asked questions

My disposal hums but does not spin. What happened?

It is usually jammed. Turn off the power, use the hex key slot underneath to free the flywheel, then press the reset button. If it still hums, the motor may be failing.

Why is my disposal leaking from the bottom?

A leak from the bottom usually means the internal seals have failed, and the unit needs to be replaced. Leaks at the top or side are often just a loose connection.

How long does a garbage disposal last?

Eight to twelve years is typical. Hard water and heavy use shorten that.

Repair or replace?

Jams and loose connections are repairs. A leaking body or a burned-out motor means replacement.

What should never go down a disposal?

Grease, fibrous peels and stalks, coffee grounds, eggshells, pasta and rice, and bones.
